4 ways to use Pinterest to increase your website traffic

4 ways to use Pinterest to increase your website traffic.

You’ve spent time designing a stunning website to attract your dream client after all, you are a fine art wedding vendor and you’ve heard that an on trend and well-thought out website is the key to booking clients. But is it enough?

The next obstacle you face is this – how do you get your bridal target audience onto your website in the first place?

The answer many will give you is social media. While Instagram has embedded a ‘swipe up’ feature into its app site, and Facebook now has selling tools integrated within its own site, Pinterest is something different – and something which is increasingly popular within the wedding market.

Here are four great ways that you as a wedding creative can use Pinterest marketing to drive visitors to their website – without the dreaded “paid posts” and advert boosts!

1.Take a leaf out of Instagram’s book and use hashtags and keywords

The first step to a successful Pinterest page is beautiful images. These are what potential clients are really looking at, and if your image doesn’t create the ‘wow’ factor then it will very quickly be overlooked. Once you’ve established an attractive profile and started pinning your best marketing pictures, the descriptions become important.

Whenever you Pin an image and link it back to your website, make sure the description includes all the keywords you think your potential brides may be searching for. I can’t say it enough. Descriptions count, and any time spent working out the best keywords for each picture you post is time well spent as this is what will guide the customer towards your pins in the first place.

2. Create boards specific to your business

You’re a wedding entrepreneur now, and you chose this market for a reason. It’s exciting, it’s varied, and it’s beautiful – and so are your products and services. Make sure your Pinterest boards reflect that by making such each board has a direct and obvious link back to your brand. In line with this, one of my biggest tips would be this – if you are a wedding vendor and you want to use Pinterest marketing as a technique, create a dedicated page for your brand. Don’t start crossing over your own personal interests with those linked to your business.

3. Is your account a Business Pinterest account?

If you’re using multiple social media accounts alongside your Pinterest account – and I suggest you do – make sure the branding and business name is consistent across all of them. Making your business name easily identifiable is the key to gaining new business and attracting the interest of potential clients, and will also allow them to easily share your brand name in recommendations. If you want recommendations, make it easy for people to recommend you – don’t make them hunt for you!

4. Make your website user-friendly

After all, your interaction doesn’t end when the user clicks through to your website, and while you may think you’ve converted them successfully, your job is far from over. Online marketing is a journey and making sure your customer has a great experience at every touchpoint is key. Exiting the process is only a short click away and if a potential client can’t find what they’re looking for immediately, they will simply go elsewhere.
