What are pinterest descriptions?

Pinterest descriptions complete your Pin. They literally describe what kind of content you are presenting with your Pins and Boards, or simply what your Pin is all about. For example when you hold a book that you don’t know its contents, you firstly read the title then you turn it around to the back and you can see what the book is all about, finally deciding whether you wish to read it or not.

The Pin descriptions can slightly differ in terms of desktop or mobile app. If you browse on your desktop, the Pin descriptions are on the right, and on the mobile app underneath the Pin image. In the case of Boards, the description is at the top, so the followers can easily navigate through the content described.

Okay, I can hear you saying: Well I browse and browse and yet on many Pins the descriptions are missing, and they are still popular! But in the end, the visibility of descriptions can differ. Sometimes you will see them on desktop but not on mobile, sometimes vice versa, on some Pins yes, on others not.. That is not uncommon! Even though they might not appear, rest assured that they are doing hard work behind the curtains for your Pinterest marketing, pushing your Pins towards your desired audience.
