How To Get rid of broken links on Pinterest
Broken Links?
I just love finding inspiration on Pinterest. Especially now that I can shop for my firstborn! Creating a Pinterest board and search for products to style the baby room.
And what I find so incredibly annoying it is when you see a great Pin with beautiful visuals, only to be faced with a blank screen or error message when you click through to the website. Whether the site or blog has been moved, renamed, or is just experiencing some errors, Pinterest broken links are an obstacle we should be doing our best to overcome. Not only is it annoying for a potential buyer, but it may impact on their ability to make a purchase or even just interact with your brand.
In the interest of helping you make sure this never happens to your Pins, first let’s look at why Pinterest broken links can happen.

How can a link be broken?
When it comes to Pinterest marketing, we all know how important it is to share links and provide extra value to our visual Pins. Whether it’s a click-through to view related items, an opportunity to read more information about a topic or product line, or a chance to get involved in a conversation, links are a great way to build up our Pinterest community.
However, Pinterest itself doesn’t always get it right, and will sometimes block links that the site feels may be misleading, spam content, or in violation of the site’s terms of service. If this happens, it’s up to you to change the link, and that means knowing when your links aren’t working…
How to find broken links.
Install the Find Broken Links tool, now available through Pin4Ever. Pin4Ever is a great tool that I use to check my profile for any Pinterest broken links, and while it doesn’t pick up on every single inaccurate link, it will shed light on the main ones that could cause you some problems.
By this, I mean that, if the link clicks through to a blank page then Pin4Ever will recognize that as an error – however, if you simply input the wrong link and there is still content available, Pin4Ever won’t spot it. That’s why, when it comes to Pinterest marketing, it’s always worth checking them out yourself as well.
How to solve broken links.
So, we know why broken links are likely to happen, and we’ve identified a tool that can help avoid them. But how can we actually fix our Pinterest broken links?
It’s really as simple as changing the website link to something more accurate; whether it be a safer webpage, a corrected blog URL or an updated site address. To do this, you need to open the Pin, edit the web address in the ‘Website’ field, and Save. To be on the safe side and ensure your Pinterest marketing is up to scratch, navigate back to the original Pin and click through to ensure your new link has saved and has been accepted.
I recommend performing a broken links check on a regular basis, always remembering that a manual check is just as important as using one of the tools available.
